Morally Sensitive Issues and Cross-Border Movement in the EU ... - 9781780683492

This academic work by Nelleke Koffeman, published by Intersentia Ltd, provides an in-depth examination of the legal challenges surrounding cross-border movement within the European Union regarding morally sensitive topics. The book focuses on two primary areas: reproductive matters and the legal recognition of same-sex relationships across member states. It explores the complexities of private international law and human rights as individuals move between jurisdictions with differing moral frameworks. Written for legal professionals, researchers, and students, this paperback text analyzes how EU member states reconcile internal policy differences with the principles of free movement. The book offers a scholarly perspective on the tension between national sovereignty in sensitive social areas and the integration goals of the European Union.
